
Nazrul Utsav will be celebrated for two days with the top singers of Bangladesh and West Bengal. About 50 young and old artists will participate in this festival. The festival will be held on February 3 and 4 at Gulshan Society Lake Park.
This matter has been confirmed at a press conference organized by Bangladesh Nazrul Sangeet Sanghat today at the Nasrul Hamid Auditorium of Dhaka Reports Unit located in Segunbagisha of the capital on Wednesday.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Nazrul Sangeet Association Khairul Anam Shakil said in the press conference, “This festival is being celebrated by the initiative of Bangladesh Nazrul Sangeet Association, Gulshan Society, and Indian High Commission. HSBC Bank will be the title sponsor of this festival.”
The program will be inaugurated by Minister of State for Culture KM Khalid. Apart from this, Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni will inaugurate the new phase of Nazrul Sangeet Cell on the second day of the event. Nazrul Sangeet recorded the original tune by 125 artists of the new era will be aired on YouTube.
“Besides music, there will be dance, recitation, and discussion. The event will be open to the public. However, invitations are always required to enter the venue. The invitation letter is available free of cost at the Gregorian Club in Gulshan and the IT office in Dhanmondi,” he added.
Yakub Ali Khan, president of Bangladesh Nazrul Sangeet Sanghat said in the press conference, “Indian High Commissioner Prannoy Verma, Bangladesh CEO of HSBC Bank Mahbub ur Rahman, President of Gulshan Society Mr. ATM Shamsul Huda and Kabir’s granddaughter Khilkhil Kazi will speak at the opening ceremony. Apart from this, the Director General of Bangla Academy, Kavi Muhammad Nurul Huda, will deliver a memorial speech at the event. Writer, researcher, and publisher Mofidul Haque and National Poet Kazi Nazrul University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Soumitra Shekhar Dey will also participate in the discussion. The program will be broadcast live from the Facebook page of Machranga Television.”
Various leaders of the organization including treasurer Karim Hasan Khan, member of the editorial board Kalpana Anam and head of personal banking Tammi Haque were also present at the press conference.
